MaryLou Iverson has served on many National and State boards related to Playgrounds, With the National Recreation and Park Association's (NRPA), she was a founder of the Playground Safety Institute and for many years was on the original NPSI Board and an instructor. She continued as an instructor in the Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) training and certification program for many years. Ms. Iverson was a founder, served on the Board of the National Playground Contractors Association International (NPCAI). She was a founder and instructor of the Playground Construction School. She continues to be active in the American Society of Testing and Materials International (ASTMI) playground, surfacing and amusements committees. She also consults on initiative projects with architects, designers and fabricators. Ms. Iverson consults with attorneys and serves as an expert on play area related cases.
