At Earthscape, our goal is to design and build incredible playgrounds that open children’s imaginations, stimulate their creativity and challenge their motor development. Inspired by the playgrounds of the world, we aim to create the very best play spaces for North America’s kids. Our thoughtful and inspired designs ensure high play value and offer beneficial risk.
We design and fabricate in our Elmira, Ontario workshop where our experienced designers, crafts people and installation crews work side-by-side through the details of the design-build process to ensure adherence to strict safety standards while maximizing play potential. Our playgrounds are often themed and we make maximum use of every site. Play elements are primarily constructed from natural materials and include wooden sculptures, timber climbers, stone, water, sand and plants.
Our story
Earthscape was born in the fall of 2005, established by Mark Schwarz and Sam Bauman. Mark, an experienced engineer and businessman, and Sam, an entrepreneurial tradesman, set out to create a new landscape firm focused on trend-setting principals in residential design and construction.
After award-winning recognition for residential projects, opportunities to create local children’s play spaces were presented in 2010. Initially focused solely on ‘natural playgrounds’, demand for our playground work has grown quickly and Earthscape has evolved into an award-winning exemplar of unique, custom play space design-build. With current projects throughout Ontario, we are now expanding to projects across Canada.
